Troy Bacon Named Interim Police Chief in Massachusetts

TROY BACON

Former Frankfort Police Chief Troy Bacon has been named as the interim police chief in Adams, Mass. He will replace the retiring Richard Tarsa.

Bacon was the chief of police for Frankfort for the past eight years before deciding to retire at the end of last year. Even though his appointment is on an interim basis, he was one of the applicants for the permanent position before the search was called off because of the COVID-19 outbreak so there is some speculation he could be retained at the end of the six-month period.

Bacon was chosen from a five. His appointment was unanimously and enthusiastically endorsed by every board member on the Board of Selectmen in Adams.

Adams is a town in northern Berkshire County and is part of the Pittsfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. Adams’ population in 2010 was 8,485. Notable people from Adams includes women’s suffragist Susan B. Anthony.
