Veterans Day Program Moved to Frankfort VFW Because of Forecast

The Frankfort VFW announced Wednesday afternoon that the Annual Veterans Day Program has been moved to the Frankfort VFW from Veterans Park due to all the rain that is forecast for Thursday. The event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.

The following is the schedule for the Annual Veterans Day Program.

Master of Ceremonies — Mel Betts, Past Commander American Legion Post 12

Invocation — Pastor Allen Weldy, Rossville Church of the Brethren

National Anthem — Jacque Clements

Pledge of Allegiance — Opal Bower, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 12

Introduction — Mel Betts, Past Commander American Legion Post 12

Decorating the Mound — Various Organizations and Auxiliaries

Medley of Songs

Update on Veterans Benefits — Patrick Corwin, Vice Commander VFW Post 1110

Veterans Day Address — Judith Sheets, Mayor City of Frankfort

11 A.M. Firing — Marine Corps League #967

Taps — Larry McBee, Past Commander, American Legion Post 12; and Kyle Miller, SAL Second Vice Commander

Benediction — Pastor Allen Weldy, Rossville Church of the Brethren

Sandwiches at VFW Post 1110, 309 N. Main St., after the program. Veteran and one guest are invited to Dinner at American Legion Post #12, 6-7 p.m. for Veterans and one guest

Programs furnished by Archer-Weston Funeral Home/Goodwin Funeral Home. Individuals need to bring their own chairs.
