Wanda Mitchell to Resign from City Council November 1

Clinton County Republican Chairman Jim Moyer has announced that he has received a vacancy in the office of Frankfort City Council District 5 created by the resignation of Wanda Mitchell.

Mitchell submitted her resignation October 15 with an effective date of November 1.

Pursuant to IC 3-13-11-4, you are hereby notified of a caucus to fill this vacancy. The caucus will be held on Tuesday, November 13, at 4 p.m. in the City Council Chamber in Old Stoney located at 301 East Clinton Street, Frankfort.

A person who wishes to be a candidate for this office must file a declaration of candidacy with the Chairman at least 72 hours before the time fixed for the caucus (IC 3-13-11-7b). The deadline will therefore be 4 p.m. on November 10. Form (CEB-5) is available from GOP headquarters or from the Frankfort Clerk-Treasurer’s office in the City Building (Old Stoney) or from the County Clerk in the Courthouse.

Only Precinct Chairman may vote in this caucus. However, a Precinct Vice-Chairman may be a proxy for his/her Chairman if the County Chairman is notified 72 hours in advance.

The new councilman takes office on November 14.
