Washington Township Downs Rossville in Semi-State Action

Washington Township broke a 5-all tie by scoring seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning en route to a 13-8 Class A semi-state baseball victory over Rossville Saturday afternoon in Plymouth.

The victory moved Washington Township into the Class A state championship at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Victory Field in Indianapolis against University, which defeated Tecumseh 4-1 in the other semi-state at Jasper.

Rossville opened the game by scoring two runs in the top of the first, only to see Washington Township score five in the bottom half. Rossville tied the game with three runs in the second before the fatal fourth inning. Rossville cut the deficit to 12-8 with three in the fifth, but Washington Township added another run in the bottom of the inning to close out the win.
