Whitestown Officer Receive Honors During 2024 Awards Banquet

On Saturday, the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department hosted its 2024 Awards Banquet dedicated to appreciating its members from all divisions for the hard work they put in every day and to honor them with accolades for their efforts throughout the year.

During the banquet, Officer Cale McCarty was honored with the 2024 Rookie of the Year award.

Officer Frank Wolfe III received the 2024 “Big Fish Award” that is presented to an officer who made a significant arrest or seizure due to their proactive police activity. The award was presented to Wolfe for his traffic stop that resulted in an arrest of a methamphetamine dealer and the seizure of 15 grams of methamphetamine.

Officers Drew Holbrook, Daniel Wines and Detective Gabe Frietzsche received 2024 Life Saving Awards for their actions resulting in preservation of life.

The entire Criminal Investigation Division received the 2024 Outstanding Police Duty Award that was the result of the diligent efforts exuded during the investigation into a shooting that occurred on I-65 in July that ultimately led to the arrest of the shooter and an accomplice.

The most prestigious award was presented to Officer Kyle Haskins, the 2024 Officer of the Year award.

“In his brief time with us, Officer Haskins has shown his commitment to continuously improving himself and in turn the department by having what his supervisors best described as a ‘department first’ mentality,” the department released. “He brings a positive and contagious attitude with him every day. He is always upbeat and improves the attitudes and quality of work of those surrounding him.”
