Clinton County Republican Party Chairman Jim Moyer released the timeline for the mayoral vacancy Friday afternoon. It is as follows:<\/p>\n
January 29 — Letter of resignation received.<\/p>\n
January 31 — Amended letter of resignation received.<\/p>\n
February 4 — Notification of vacancy is mailed on this date.<\/p>\n
February 19 — Candidates file declaration no later than this date at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n
February 22 — Caucus held on this date at 10 a.m.<\/p>\n
February 24 — County Clerk notified of selection on this date.<\/p>\n
March 2 — New Mayor takes office on this date at noon.<\/p>\n
Moyer said the caucus winner will be determined by a majority of the precincts that are at the caucus. There will be at least 19 precincts represented with the possible addition of two others (Precinct 20 and Precinct 39).<\/p>\n
The Mayoral position became available when Mayor Chris McBarnes announced Tuesday he was resigning the position to take the executive director position with The Wyldlife Fund in Wyoming.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
