At approximately 3:52 p.m. Thursday, officers from the Indiana State Police and the Grant County Sheriff\u2019s Department responded to a four-vehicle crash on I-69 near the 259-mile marker, in which four people were injured.<\/p>\n
The preliminary crash investigation by Master Trooper Lee Williams revealed that traffic was backed up, in a work zone, on southbound I-69 near the 259-mile marker. Raquin Pommer, 23, Nashville, N.C., was driving a 2020 Hino Box truck southbound in the work zone. Pommer failed to stop for the slowing or stopped traffic and rear-ended a 2020 Ford Escape. The Escape was driven by Chase Foreman, 22, Marion. The momentum of the box truck and the Escape continued into an adjacent lane hitting a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Brandon Folgers, 26, Anderson, and a 2011 Chrysler 200 driven by Jalyn Moore, 21 Summerville.<\/p>\n
Foreman was flown from the crash scene, via medical helicopter, to a Fort Wayne hospital with life threatening injuries. \u00a0Folgers was transported, via ambulance, to a Muncie hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. The other two drivers were transported to local hospitals for medical checks. They were released having suffered bruises and abrasions.<\/p>\n
This crash is still under investigation, but at this time neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to the crash.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
