Evelyn M. Payne Huffer, 90, of Frankfort, died November 12, 2024 at Wesley Manor.\u00a0 She was born October 28, 1934 in Frankfort to Floyd E. & Mary E. (Crick) Gilmore.\u00a0 She married Gene A. Payne on June 9, 1956 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2003.\u00a0 She then married Wilbur Huffer on January 9, 2010 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2016.<\/p>\n
Evelyn was a 1952 grad![\"\"](\"https:\/\/clintoncountydailynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/Huffer-Evelyn-Photo-179x300.jpg\")
<\/em><\/strong>uate of Colfax High School, received her BA degree in education from Ball State University and her Masters from Butler University.\u00a0 She taught business at Zionsville Schools and was very involved in the Zionsville School activities.\u00a0 She was a member of the New Hope Church, Eastern Star, Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.<\/p>\n
Evelyn is survived by her son:\u00a0 Gary (Linda) Payne of Lebanon, daughters:\u00a0 Mary Ann (Benny) Shepherd Louden of Darlington, Marlene Payne Goss of New Castle, Marilyn (Sam) Merrill of Lebanon, sisters:\u00a0 Alice Davis of Frankfort, Roberta Wiley of Frankfort, Joan (Millard See) Wood of Frankfort, brother:\u00a0 Robert (Pam) Gilmore of Zionsville,\u00a011 grandchildren, several great grand-children and great great-grandchildren.\u00a0In addition to her parents, spouses, she is preceded in death by a brother Donald Eugene Gilmore and a grandson, Robbie C. Payne.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, November 17 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home<\/a>, 200 S.
