The National Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory in effect until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22 for the region including Clinton, Carroll and Boone counties.<\/p>\n
The service stated that community members in the region may experience very cold wind chills as low as -20 degrees across portions of central, east central, north central, south central, southeast and west central Indiana.<\/p>\n
The advisory has been issued for Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Clinton, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Boone, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Henry, Vigo, Clay, Owen, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Rush, Monroe, Brown, Bartholomew, Decatur and Jennings counties.<\/p>\n
The advisory warns of dangerously cold wind chills as low as -20 degrees that could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.<\/p>\n
The coldest wind chills are expected during the overnight hours with daytime wind chills possibly rising above zero degrees.<\/p>\n
