Rev. Richard H. Pursifull

Rev. Richard H. Pursifull, 62, of Kirklin, IN, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at his home.

He was born May 21, 1956, in Frankfort, to Roscoe Hartzell and Catherine B. (Shoemaker) Pursifull.  On July 28, 1974, he married Joyce A. Cox and they shared 44 years together; she survives in Kirklin.

Richard had been the pastor of the Cyclone Community Church, associate pastor at Faith Wesleyan Church, and the Lighthouse of Hope Church in Frankfort.  He had been the lay pastor at the Church of God in Kirklin.  Richard had worked at Wesley Manor for two years in the kitchen, Peter Paul for 10 years, and Federal Mogul for 34 years.  He enjoyed serving on the UAW Chaplain Committee local 1949. He loved his ministry, horseback riding, and camping with his family in the Smoky Mountains.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by two daughters, Christina A. Pursifull of Sheridan, and Jaime (Pursifull) Aleshire of Kokomo; two sisters, Joy C. (Patrick) Stevens of Cyclone, and Shirley (Robert) Siler of Frankfort; one brother, David Pursifull of Cyclone; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Scott) Driver of California, Jodi Aleshire of Indianapolis, Sydney Aleshire of Indianapolis, Tyler Johnson of Kokomo, Aubry Johnson of Kokomo, and Abram Aleshire of Kokomo; brother-in-law, Wayne L. Dunk of Mulberry; sister-in-law, Mary (Kenny) Greeno of Frankfort; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, brother, James V. Pursifull; brother-in-law, Robert P. Drake; sister-in-law, Sylvia Dunk; and niece, Robin Renee Drake.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 2pm to 5pm at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort.  Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral service which will begin at 1pm on Friday, December 7, at the Kirklin Wesleyan Church.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirklin.   Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
