Saturday, September 14th, the Sugar Creek District held it’s 24th Annual Cub Scout Fishing Derby at the Frankfort Lagoons. Fifty-eight scouts in total from Packs 316,336,337,338, 359, 550 and 909 spent the afternoon catching fish with there adult partners. Between them, 184 total fish were caught! Trophies were given out at each age level for: Most fish caught, Largest Bluegill caught, Largest Other Fish caught, Scavenger Hunt, and Other Award “given for catching a turtle �� “. Pack 336 set up and ran a concession stand for the day, with help from a couple of young ladies from our newest Female Scout Troop, Troop 219. They used a unique bobber shaped grill, on loan from Ryan Carlson, which caught the eye of everyone who came up to the stand! We would like to thank all of the volunteers who came out to help this year, Carl with bait for sale, Chrissy and Jason Earl helped with counting and measuring the fish as they came in, Jessie Cline, Susan Galvan, Thelma Howard and Katrina Glass helped with registration, Erick Dircks came out and took photos, and Dana Harrison, our ringer leader who has put all 24 of these derbies together! And a special thank you to James Payne for the donation of 2 fishing poles
