The Frankfort High School girls’ tennis team improved to 15-3 on the season with a 5-0 victory over Lafayette Central Catholic Thursday in Lafayette.
Emily Michael and Riley Isgrigg each won their singles matches in straight sets, while Ashlyn Harshbarger went three sets to get a victory. The doubles teams of Abby Pierce and Rylo Seibert along with Jalynn Kidwell and Rebecca Perez both won in straight sets.
On Tuesday, the Lady Hot Dogs hosted Crawfordsville in Sagamore Conference and came away with a 4-1 victory to secure their first conference championship in 15 years.
Isgrigg and Maddie Toney earned singles victories, while the doubles teams of Pierce/Seibert and Kidwell/Perez easily won their matches.
Frankfort also learned that due to court issues at Lebanon High School this spring they will be hosting the sectional tournament this coming week. Teams involved in the sectional are FHS, Lebanon, Rossville, Western Boone and Zionsville.
In boys’ golf, the Hot Dogs scored a season best score at the Frankfort Commons Thursday with a 178 to 225 victory over Delphi. Leading the way was Sascha Pirch with a 40, followed by Drew Grismer and Camden Cesare with a pair of 45s and Nolan Varner had a 48.
On Wednesday, Frankfort traveled to Rocky Ridge for an outing with North Montgomery and Lafayette Central Catholic. Frankfort placed second in the meet with a score of 183. Central Catholic won the meet at 161 and North Montgomery took third at 190.
Pirch led the Dogs with a 41 followed by Reece Mitchell at 45, Dakota Bailey 47 and Ramsey Mitchell 50.
In baseball, Connor Boone, Casey Henry and Christian each homered and Lopez got the victory as the Hot Dogs blanked Western Boone 8-0 Wednesday night.
On Monday, Frankfort was beaten by Westfield 8-6 despite three hits from Jose Valdes Sandoval.
On May 3, Henry and Sandoval combined to throw a no-hitter and Jack Wilkins homered for the Dogs in a 10-0 victory over Southmont.
In softball action, Avery Drew tossed a three-hitter in a 6-2 victory over Western Boone Thursday evening. Morgan Dean and Drew led Frankfort with two hits apiece. Kimee Kingma, Chloe Roberts, Kylie Norman, Katie Roberts and Karim Quinones each had a hit.
On Monday, Frankfort banged out 14 hits in a 12-0 victory over Delphi.
In track, the Frankfort boys’ track team captured the Frankfort Relays on Senior Night. First place finishes include the Shot Put (Myers, Cervantez Zamora, Zeke VanDeventer and Gooden), the Discus (Mullinax, Earl, Manny Garcia, Myers), the High jump (Evan Jordan, Haynes, Ramey, Barriga), the 4×1600 (Sallee, Trenado Alanis, Bautista Ventura and Hugo Hernandez), the 4×800 (Espidio, Guijosa Valdes, Trenado Alanis, Kevin Wilkins) and the 4×400 (Ramey, N. Alanis, Hernandez Cuatecatl and Craig).
