Clinton Prairie Takes Down Sheridan in Volleyball Action

Clinton Prairie improved its volleyball record to 8-9 on the year with a 25-17, 24-26, 16-25, 24-18, 15-8 victory over Sheridan Tuesday night.

Frankfort Dominates County Cross Country

Frankfort had a dominant performance at the Clinton County Championship meet, with the boys winning for a third year in a row with only 19 points scored and the girls winning back-to-back championship with only 25 points.

The boys finished with five runners in the top six, including Hugo Hernandez repeating as individual champion, while the girls finished with five in the top eight.

All-County, which are those who finish in the top seven, for the boys include Hernandez (1st), Josue Bautista Ventura (3rd), Bryan Longoria Rocha (4th), Daniel Pritchett (5th) and Cristian Asensio-Mora (6th). Angel Perez placed ninth.

All-County for the girls include Carina Alanis (3rd), Payton Dubree (4th), Christina Espidio (6th) and Madyson Cook (7th). Other top 15 performers were Ochoa DeAlda (8th), Hemmersbach (9th) and Kiyomi Perkins (13th).

Two Lady Hot Dogs Make Second Team All Conference

Frankfort’s girls’ golf team competed in the Sagamore Conference and shot a 451 as a team. Sydney Cesare led the team with a 99 and Emilee Shipley followed with a 106. Both made second team all conference. Other FHS scores included Tori Hopins 119, Raelyn Mitchell 127 and Karleigh Bessler 133.

FHS Boys’ Soccer Downs Southmont

Chris Hernandez scored two goals in the first half to help lead Frankfort to an 8-1 Sagamore Conference victory over Southmont Tuesday. Trailing 1-0 early, Hernandez scored an unassisted goal and then added a second score on an assist from Daniel Mejia Cervantes. The Hot Dogs added goals from Leo Mejia, Alex Beltran and Noel Mora for a 5-1 lead at intermission. Assists came from Majia, Yobi Trenado and Beltran.

In the second half, FHS had a pair of unassisted goals from Salvador Pena-Garcia and Trenado, who assisted on the final goal from Rudy Garcia-Cruz.

The Hot Dogs are now 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the Sagamore.

Last Thursday, Hernandez had an unassisted goal and assisted on a goal by Mora for a 2-0 victory over Crawfordsville.

FHS Boys’ Tennis Blanks North Montgomery

Frankfort downed North Montgomery 5-0 Tuesday night in Sagamore Conference action in Frankfort.

FHS Volleyball Falls to Tri-West

The Lady Hot Dogs dropped a home match to Tri-West 3-1 on Wednesday night. Morgan Adamson had 29 assists and two aces, Ashley Timmons led offensively with 15 kills, Chloe Roberts added 13 kills and 16 dogs and Allyson Timmons had seven kills. Tarah Martinez added two kills and five digs.

FHS Girls’ Soccer

The Frankfort girls’ soccer team fell to 3-5-1 on the season with a 3-0 road loss to Hamilton Heights on Saturday. FHS goalie Jessie Ramos stopped her second penalty kick in three tries in the first half.
