Everyone is reminded that Daylight Savings Time comes to an end tonight as all of us need to turn our clocks backward one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, to 1 a.m. Local Standard Time instead. This means we all get an extra hour of sleep that night.
This also means that sunrise and sunset will be about an hour earlier on Sunday than the day before. There will be more light in the morning and get dark earlier in the evening.
Daylight Savings Time in most of the United States starts on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November. Most of Arizona, with the exception of the Navajo Nation, and Hawaii doesn’t use Daylight Savings Time as well as the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and American Samoa. Most of Canada is on Daylight Savings Time though the majority of Saskatchewan and parts of northeastern British Columbia don’t participate. Indiana introduced DST in 2006.
The next time change after this coming weekend will be on Sunday, March 8, 2020.
