Frankfort Downs Central in Opener

Frankfort rallied to score 14 points in the second half on its way to a 20-12 season-opening non-conference victory over Clinton Central Friday night in Michigantown.

The Hot Dogs had a rushing touchdown and two scores through the air along with a two-point conversion for the victory.

A big key in the victory for Frankfort was the fact it forced six turnovers by Central, including four fumbles. One of the two interceptions came on the final play of the game which helped FHS hang on for the win.

Daiden Taulbee and Keegan Burnette each scored a touchdown for the Bulldogs. Zander Hall led the team in tackles with 13 and Tyler Rayl added 11.

Harrison 9-Way Cross Country Meet

The Frankfort boys placed fourth and the girls wound up sixth in the Harrison 9-Way Invitational Tuesday.

Team Winner — West Lafayette 37 (Frankfort finished fourth at 94).

Individual Winner — Elijah Stenberg (West Lafayette) 16:54.

Kokomo Invitational Volleyball

Frankfort went 1-3 in the Kokomo Invitational Saturday in Kokomo. They defeated Kokomo 3-0 before losing to Pike 2-1, Richmond and DeKalb in three games.

Stats for the day were: Maicee Sterrett (23 kills, 23 digs), Morgan Adamson (13 kills, 45 assists), Bella Colby (24 kills, 8 blocks), Tarah Martinez (12 aces, 15 dogs), Mercedez Toney (20 digs, 4 aces), Sydni Whitaker (19 digs 8 aces), Eryka Pillion (21 digs), Erika Stephenson (2 digs, 1 kill) and Amber Houchen (4 blocks, 3 kills).

Girls’ Soccer Gets First Win

Frankfort scored three goals in the final 15 minutes for a 4-3 victory over Eastern Monday in Greentown.

Freshman Ava Michael scored twice for Frankfort, including the game-winner which had just enough on it to cause the Eastern goalie to mishandle it. Sophomore Nataly Cruz also tallied for Frankfort as did senior Mia Hernandez.

Boys’ Soccer Falls to McCutcheon

McCutcheon scored the game’s only goal in the second half for a 1-0 victory Tuesday night in Frankfort. The loss dropped the Hot Dogs to 2-3.

In the Hot Dog Invitational on Saturday, Frankfort defeated Rossville in a shootout before falling to Crawfordsville in the final 8-1.

In the shootout, Alex Campos sent FHS to the finals with the decisive kick. Yobani Trenando and Damian Lopez scored goals for the Hot Dogs.

FHS Girls’ Golf

Frankfort’s Emilee Shipley shot a 42 Tuesday in a triangular meet against Harrison and West Lafayette. She is the lone girl golfer this year for FHS.

Benton Central Blanks FHS in Tennis

Benton Central scored a 5-0 victory over Frankfort Saturday morning. The Dogs were able to score games in all of their matches.
