Wanda Lee Israel, 90, of Rossville, passed away March 30, 2023 in her home. She was born on December 13, 1932 in Frankfort to Clifford Earl and Mildred Pearl (Greeno) Mitchell. She married John W. Israel on June 17, 1950 in Clinton County and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2011.
Wanda attended Frankfort High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed bird and squirrel watching along with gardening and flowers. Her greatest joy was her family and friends.
Surviving are her Children: John W. “Bill” (Marilyn) Israel Jr. of Evansville, Michael L. Israel of Frankfort, Kathryn S. Israel of Lafayette, Lori J. (Tony) Meredith of Frankfort, and Brian S. Israel of Rural Frankfort; 16 Grandchildren; 26 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; along with several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, a son-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Teresa Blacker, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.
Friends may visit 1-3 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 E. Clinton Street, Frankfort. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery in Stockwell, IN.
