Vincent John DeBernardi, 72, of Frankfort, passed away July 1, 2023 in his home. He was born on November 14, 1950 in Queens, New York to Vincent and Ruth (Lambert) DeBernardi. He married Felicia White on December 14, 2021 in Frankfort, and she survives.
Vincent was a 1969 graduate of Lindenhurst Senior High School and served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971, serving in Vietnam. He lived his first 30 years in New York, transitioning to North Carolina, Kansas, and California before settling in Indiana for the last 30 years. Vincent was a “Jack of all trades” working construction – roofing, carpentry, and road construction. He was a member of Union 120 while working for Grady Brothers Asphalt for nearly 20 years. He was always busy and often said “go, go, go – do, do, do!” He loved working on cars and racing them and enjoyed repurposing jewelry and making jewelry using silver spoons.
Vincent was kind and gentle but he meant business. He loved to help in any way he could. He would give you his last dollar – no questions and he was always looking for work to do or someone who needed help. He was the sweetest man and went above and beyond to show his love to us every day. It was his mission to make us happy. He is my love, my sweetheart, and he called me his “mini-me”.
Surviving along with his wife Felicia are his Daughter: Michelle; Sons: Steven DeBernardi of Shelbyville, IN, Andrew DeBernardi of Greenwood, IN, and Tyler DeBernardi; Step-Son: Alezander White of Frankfort; Several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren; Brothers: Richard DeBernardi of Copiague, NY, Gary DeBernardi of Copiague, NY, and Vince DeBernardi of Indianapolis, IN; Sister: Laura DeBernardi of Copiague, NY; Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
