Linda Virgene Castle passed away on March 20, 2026. She was born December 17, 1947, in Frankfort, Indiana, to Jesse and Louise Castle. Linda grew up in a large, lively household with nine siblings: Jesse, Dick, Doug, Bruce, Betty, Joyce, Joan and Pat.

She attended Frankfort Senior High School. Linda was a mother to her five children: Vernon David Gillum (Vera), Randy Lee Gillum (Reden), Connie Jean Martin (Kerry), Robby Allen Gillum and Mark Anthony Castle (Ashley).

Linda was a spirited entrepreneur with a wide range of talents. Throughout her life, she owned and operated several businesses, including a pizza parlor, a retail shop, and a painting business. Her creative side shone through her work in house painting, vehicle restoration and graphic design.

She is survived by 11 grandchildren-Garren, Myriah, Kyle, Clayton, Lindsey, Mikeal, Robyn, Ciara, Madalyn, Matthew, and Mark Oliver-and three great-grandchildren: Chloe, Ini, and Kieran. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Jesse, Dick, and Doug; her sister Betty; and her grandson Derrick.

Linda will be remembered as a strong, independent woman defined by her kindness and generosity. She found peace in nature, loved her animals and plants, and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
