Head Start officials want Howard County parents to know that Head Start enrollment is underway for the 2018-2019 school year for current and new students. To help Howard County parents finalize the enrollment process, Head Start officials are conducting a Health & Enrollment Fair Friday, May 11th at the Darrough Chapel Early Learning Center (900 S. Goyer Road, Kokomo, IN). Full-day preschool openings are available for the 2018-2019 school year for eligible Howard County preschool age children, 3 and 4 years old (before August 1, 2018). The Head Start program accepts income eligible children and families. Transportation services are provided.
If your preschool-aged child lives in the Kokomo, Eastern, Northwestern, Taylor, or Western school districts, parents and/or guardians are welcome to learn more about the Head Start high-quality preschool program, by contacting the Head Start office at (765) 454-7082 or toll-free at 1-800-497-0774.
Head Start Director Julie Worland reminds Howard County parents and/or guardians that the “Head Start Advantage” includes full-day classes, transportation, meals (breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack), a unique Fatherhood program, assistance with medical and dental needs, a personal family advocate, parent and family engagement programming, and a research-based curriculum.
This high-quality Head Start education, where kindergarten readiness skills are a priority, features a highly-qualified staff (all Head Start teachers have at least a Bachelor’s Degree).
During the Health & Enrollment Fair May 11th at Darrough Chapel, returning Howard County Head Start students should make appointments now for between 9 am to Noon to qualify for a FREE physical exam, as well as required dental exams. Head Start officials will be available at the fair to help parents complete paperwork for the 2018-2019 school year.
New Head Start students and families, as well as the public, are welcome to the Health & Enrollment Fair at Darrough Chapel from 11:30 am to 2 pm May 11th.
