All of the schools within the Community Schools of Frankfort had a very interesting start to the week as there were no phones or internet available Monday.
“Due to a fiber connection loss from our internet provider, we have been without phone service and internet access throughout the school district all day today,” said Community Schools of Frankfort Assistant Superintendent Joel McKinney Monday afternoon. “We’ve reached out to let our parents know. We apologize for any inconvenience especially since we have been unable to send or receive phone calls in all of our schools.
“We are working on a backup solution in case this were to happen again,” continued McKinney. “We think it’s going to be repaired by the end of the day. We do have radio and phone use in all of the buildings, so we can communicate with each other if there are any security issues. We hope to be back in operation tomorrow with at least our phone service in operation.”
McKinney said ACCS personnel were working on the problem and found an area near the Blue Ridge and Green Meadows schools where mice had chewed through electrical wiring, including a very small wire which has to be reconnected in at least two different areas.
