CCDN QUICK LOOK:
CLINTON COUNTY: Rich Kelly came away as the winner in a four-person contest for the Clinton County Sheriff’s race Tuesday night in the Primary Election. Kelly wound up with 1,671 votes (35.77 percent), former Sheriff Mark Mitchell was second with 1,278 votes (27.35 percent). Matt Myers was third with 863 (18.47 percent) and Jerrad Blacker was fourth with 860 (18.41 percent). Kelly now moves on to the General Election on November 6 where he will currently run unopposed. In other contested races, Scott Shoemaker defeated Richelle Lutz for the Clinton County Commissioners District 3 race and incumbent Alan Dunn defeated Bechel Crew to capture the Clinton County Council District 4 race.
TIPPECANOE COUNTY: Jason Dombkowski has won the Republican nomination for Tippecanoe County sheriff. He took 50 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, Incumbent Pat Harrington has won the Republican primary for Tippecanoe County prosecutor. Harrington had 57 percent of the votes in Tuesday’s Primary Election. Challenger Earl McCoy had 43 percent.
BOONE COUNTY: Mike Nielsen won the Republican nomination for Sheriff with 82 percent of the vote.
HOWARD COUNTY: County Commissioner District One candidate Paul Wyman took the nomination with 55 percent of the votes. For Howard County Council District 3 it was Les Ellisin with a close win over Leslie Fatum. For Howard County Council District 4, it was Steven Jones over George Alexander. Rebecca Vent took the nomination for Howard County Superior Court Judge.
