Kenneth D. Beard, 91, of Frankfort, died May 12, 2018 at Clinton House. Born May 9, 1927 in Frankfort, Indiana to William & Ella (Strain) Beard. He married L. Nadine Edmonds on February 5, 1949 and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2014.
Mr. Beard was a graduate of Rossville High School and Pierce College Technical School in California. He was a lifelong Clinton County resident. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served from May 1945-July 1946 in Key West, Florida. He worked for Allisons, P.R. Mallory, Federal Mogul and the U.S. Government Logistic Agency, retiring in 1989. Mr. Beard was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and a 50 plus year member of the Moose Lodge #7.
Family: 1 Daughter: Linda (Don) Nace of Mesa, AZ, 2 Sons: Gary (Patti) Beard of Frankfort, IN and Greg (Teri) Beard of Frisco, TX, 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Marvin & Vaughn Beard and 3 sisters, Mildred Robison, Vivian McCann and Helen Wildridge.
Services:
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. -12 Noon Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral service will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or Mooseheart.
