According to Chief Troy Bacon, the grant funding of $3,283 will be used to purchase an Air Science Purair Basic Ductless Fume Hood that officers will use while packaging dangerous drug evidence.
“The fume hood will be used by officers when packaging and testing potentially harmful and life-threatening drugs such as Fentanyl. The fume hood will utilize a HEPA filter so that officers don’t inhale harmful particulates if there is an exposure. It will also help reduce any large scale exposure inside the department if there is a spill”, Bacon said.
