Betty L. Burkle, 92, life-long Carroll County resident until she moved to Tampa, Florida, in 2008 to be with her son, passed away surrounded by her family. She was born December 3, 1925, in Carroll County, to Clarence and Elsie (Welday) Shultheis. On September 22, 1946, she married Elwood Burkle; he preceded her in death on May 22, 1996.
Betty graduated from Delphi High School. She was a dedicated farm wife and homemaker throughout her life and member of the Pyrmont United Methodist Church.
Surviving Betty are her son, Joseph (Sarah) Burkle, of Tampa; sister, Doris Stull, of Wanatah, Ind.; five grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Betty is preceded in death by her parents, son, Ivan, and sister, Carolyn Burkle.
A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Genda Funeral Home Rossville Chapel with Rev. Ed Selvidge officiating. Burial will follow in Rossville Cemetery. Online condolences may be directed to www.gendafuneralhome.com.
