At approximately 5 p.m. Saturday, Whitestown Metropolitan Police Officers were dispatched to the Meijer Supermarket for a theft in progress. Boone County Dispatch advised responding officers that a white male suspect wearing a gray sweatshirt exited the Meijer, and was running through the parking lot southbound. The male had pushed a cart filled with merchandise out the front door past the point of purchase without paying. Dispatch also informed officers a white female suspect then loaded all the unpaid merchandise into a white Buick, and was driving eastbound from the Meijer.
WMPD Officers arrived in the area shortly after, and observed the male suspect run into the nearby McDonalds. Officers apprehended the male suspect, and detained him. WMPD Officers also located the white Buick parked nearby, and observed the female suspect run into the Witham at Anson Emergency Department. Officers then apprehended the female suspect and detained her.
After further investigation, several witnesses, and Meijer Loss Prevention confirmed that the male and female being detained by WMPD were the individuals who attempted to steal the unpurchased merchandise from Meijer. The male was identified as Nicholas Bishop (of Lebanon), and the female was identified as Holly Brann on (of Lebanon). Both were arrested pending charges of theft.
