The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southern Carroll County, Tippecanoe, northern Clinton County, southwestern Howard County, northeastern Warren County and northern Tipton County until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
At 2:05 p.m., severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Otterbein to 12 miles north of Frankfort, moving east at 60 mph. Wind gusts of 60 mph and quarter size hail are accompanying these radar-indicated storms. Hail damage to vehicles in expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.
Locations impacted include Lafayette, Frankfort, West Lafayette, Tipton, Flora, Rossville, Shadeland, Dayton, Battle Ground, Mulberry, Russiaville, Sharpsville, Burlington, Michigantown, Kempton, Purdue University and Indian Heights. This includes Interstate 65 between mile markers 159 and 184.
