The 2nd night of the Kirk’s Crossing Festival started off with the Kiddie King and Kiddie Queen contest. A short time before the festival, participants decorated cans of all sizes and shapes asking for votes. At a Penny a vote with the proceeds go towards the Kirks Crossing Festival. There were two contestants in the Kiddie Queen and three young gentleman in the Kiddie King portion. The sponsors for this event were as follows: Ashers spirits and grill, Ellis Jewelry, The Farmers Bank and Bookers Bar and grill. The 2019 Kiddie Queen which received a sash and a tiara was Cara Perlee of Kirklin. The Kiddie King was given a robe and crown to wear and a t-shirt for the rest of the festival. The 2019 Kiddie King was Henry King. Each participant received a goodie bag of prizes and gift certificates. The next event for the evening was sponsored by Bushels of Blessing of Kirklin and Ellis Jewelry of Frankfort. The five teen queen candidates ages 12 to 17 went through an interview process on Monday evening. They also had a session of modeling their choice of an outfit that showed their personality and interest. Thank you to ou our judges and sponsors. Each teen queen candidate received a goody bag of prizes as well. The 2019 Kirk’s Crossing Teen Queen named was Chloee Perlee of Kirklin. The annual parade is today at noon. Erick Dircks was on hand for photos as well as shine 99 crew.
