Beginning Saturday, July 18 the Frankfort Community Public Library’s main library will expand the hours of their limited “Grab and Go” services. The Frankfort Library will be open Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 10 a.m.– 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday noon to 7 p.m. The book drops at all locations will continue to be open 24/7.
The branch libraries in Rossville, Mulberry and Michigantown will continue to be open to the public for limited service Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.– 2 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday 3–7 p.m.
Continuing in this phase of our re-opening, library patrons will be allowed to enter the buildings to browse the collections, select items to take home and to check them out. Seating areas and Harry’s coffee shop will still be closed. The Teen and Children’s Departments will only be open for selecting materials; toys, games, and computers will not be available. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
During this period, we will host a select few public events in our theater to test our ability to comply with social distancing guidelines. We will also take requests for limited meeting room use at the Frankfort facility. There cannot be more than 10 participants and everyone must agree to wear face masks. For meeting room reservations or questions regarding this limited meeting room use, contact the library’s Administrative Manager, Mindy Emswiller, at (765) 654-8746.
We will continue to offer limited walk-in public computer use. Now there will be two hour computer sessions available. One-on-one computer lessons will not be available at this time. Personal assistance at computer stations will be limited or not available due to social distancing requirements. A single genealogy computer and one microfilm station will be available. Pulling court files and on-demand copying of genealogy materials is not available at this time. Genealogy collection research is restricted and we request that you call ahead of your visit to make a reservation.
Face mask use is highly encouraged at this time. Curb service will still be offered to anyone who requests that service. Please observe the social-distancing guidelines in place at each library. Thank you for your continued support and patronage of your local libraries. For online resources and virtual programs, please visit our website, myfcpl.org.
