Orem Wins Supreme Showman Competition at 4-H Fair

Clinton Central High School senior-to-be Austin Orem was the winner of the Supreme Showman competition Friday night at the Clinton Count 4-H Fair.

“This year, I obviously had an extra day with them moving it to Friday,” said Orem. “So, I got a lot more time to go prepare with other people that had the species of livestock I was unfamiliar with. Obviously, I was from the swine barn, so I didn’t practice very much with that and I’ve showed horses in the past, so I didn’t need much work on that. But, other than that, the people that helped me were just tremendous and they helped me all the way through.”

Orem advanced to the event by winning the swine competition earlier in the week. Others in the event were Logan Harris (sheep), Jhett Stillwell (beef), Emmeline Seest (llama), MacKenzie McWhirt (goats) and Kaydence Villars (horse).

This was Orem’s second attempt at being the Supreme Showman. He is a nine-year 4-H member.

Orem received a belt buckle sponsored by LMRC Miller Family Farms, a banner sponsored by the Gary Kinsler Family and a chair sponsored by Joe and Jannine Rule and Family. All participants received a gift bag sponsored by MKP Southdowns and KP Livestock.
