National Night Out will be held tomorrow night (Tuesday, October 6) from 6-9 p.m. Due to the coronavirus, the public is being asked to turn their porch lights on and spend the night with their neighbors and the police.
Frankfort Police will have extra officers out on patrol in the neighborhoods building community relations and finding out about citizen concerns.
National Night Out is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored by the City of Frankfort. In all, over 37.5 million people participate in this annual event.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts; and send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoo0ds are organized and fighting back.
