Snow Capped volcanoes to breathtaking Canyons to Redwood Trees towering hundreds of feet over forest floor to beautiful beaches with the endless spray of salty waves…Our 63 National Park System begun when on March 1, 1872 President Ulysses S. Grant signed the Yellowstone National Park Protection Act into law.  The world’s first National Park System was born.

Now 63 National Parks provide a respite and adventure for all.  The Indiana Dunes National Park is the closest National Park to our area, but many National Parks are not much farther.
