Sandra Kay Sterling, 71, of Flora, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana on November 1, 1949, to Richard and Frances (Heron) Benge. She married Lester Lee Sterling on November 11, 1971; he preceded her in death on November 23, 2008.
Sandra graduated from Rossville High School. She loved doing word searches and taking care of others. Sandra was often described as a true nurturer.
Sandra is survived by her two children, Richie (Holli) Sterling of Flora and Eric Sterling of Kokomo; two sisters, Marilyn and Diane; two grandchildren, Jordan Sterling and Kylie Davis-Sterling; and one great-grandchild, Kohen.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and a sister, Cathy.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Genda Funeral Home in Flora with Chaplain Kevin Conklin officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Sandra’s honor to the Genda Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses.
