Judith “Judy” Rae Gascho, 84, of rural Lafayette, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 25, 2021, to celebrate Christmas with Jesus this year. She was born July 31, 1937, in Anderson, to Jay H. and Hilda L. (Trent) Lipsett. She married Jay L. Gascho on July 21, 1956; he survives.
Judy graduated from Frankfort Senior High School class of 1955. She was a homemaker and owned and operated Mulberry Bush Flower Shop. Judy enjoyed crafting, floral designing, camping, and cooking. She founded the Mulberry Junior Women’s Club, was a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church, and was a mother advisor for the Rainbow Girls.
In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by her children Amy J. (husband, Terry) Thayer of Lafayette, Timothy J. (wife, Margaret) Gascho of Lebanon, R.K. (wife, Jacki) Gascho of Newport, Oregon, Peter B. (wife, Stacie) Gascho of Lafayette, Kevin A. (wife, Frieda) Gascho of Lafayette; brother, Kevin (wife, Rose) Lipsett of Rhode Island; sisters, Diane Morrison of West Lafayette and Jerone (husband, Keith) Collier of Avon; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Kent, Jay, and David.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Genda Funeral Home ~ Mulberry Chapel. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mulberry United Methodist Church with a 1-hour visitation prior too, starting at 10:00 am. Kevin Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow in Fair Haven Cemetery.
