With broken hearts, we mourn the loss of Kim E. Spurling, 59, of rural Frankfort, who passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 29, 2022.
Born January 31, 1963, Kim was the son of Cecil Eugene “Gene” Spurling and Darleen (Hyatt) Earl. A 1981 graduate of Frankfort High School, Kim worked 16 years as a supervisor at Zachary Confections before moving to Custom Building Products, where he worked for 15 years.
Kim married Penny Hall on December 5, 1997, and she survives. Also surviving are stepchildren, Misty (Michael) Coy, Brad Dunkle, and Angie (Troy) Robinson; brother, Michael (Dawn) Spurling; sister, Melinda Spurling; grandchildren, Mikey Coy, Mason Coy, Matthew Coy, Brianna Howe, and Kenzie Dunkle; great-grandchildren, Owen Howe-Webb and Elisabeth Howe; nieces, Latisha Scott and Kalyn Vaughn, and nephews, Aaron Spurling and Bryce Vaughn.
Kim was a member of Forest Baptist Church. He enjoyed attending concerts, especially Rush, Tom Petty, and Bob Seger; fishing; camping; NASCAR; baseball (Cincinnati Reds); horror books and movies; loved life and enjoyed being active; and loved hanging by the pool with his family.
Preceding Kim in death are his parents and a sister, Sandra Vaughn.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 11:00 am until the start of the service at 1:00 pm at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Rob Marcus will officiate, and burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorials in Kim’s honor may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
