Joseph H. “Joe” Townsend, 99, of rural Frankfort, died May 1, 2022 at his home. He was born March 29, 1923 in Tipton, Ind. to Shelby & Sylvia (Gordon) Townsend. He married Mary Timmons on September 8, 1947 and 
she preceded him in death on May 22, 2020.
Joe was a graduate of Prairie Township School. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Joe is survived by his son: Don (Sue) Townsend of rural Frankfort, daughter: Debbie (Bill) Winchester of rural Frankfort, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Townsend, and 2 sisters, Anna Mae Townsend and Rosemary Leckrone, brother-in-law, Howard Leckrone and sister-in-law, Hazel Townsend
Funeral Service:
