Ronald W. “Bill” Hamilton, 81, of Frankfort, died June 11, 2022 at I.U. Health Frankfort Hospital. He was born January 20, 1941 in Marion, Ind., to Robert Edwin & Violet Ilene (Props) Hamilton. He married Linda L. Vallance on June 6, 1963 in Long Beach, CA and she preceded him in 
death on March 21, 2013.
Bill was a Marion High School graduate and attended college at Ball State University. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served from October 1961 to February 1966. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was general manager of Smurfit-Stone Container Company for 31 years, retiring in August 2000. Bill was a lifetime member of the Frankfort Jaycees, where he was past president, Elks & Moose Lodge, American Legion, former Frankfort Country Club, where he was past president and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his daughter: Tamara S. (Jay) Goodin of Lafayette, granddaughter: Camryn M. (Fiancé Mikel) Goodin of Lafayette, a great-granddaughter on the way, sister: Jane (Bill) Harmon, nieces: Kim (Eric) Linn and Candi (Doug) Moody, nephew: Paul (Joey) Harmon. Also surviving are several cousins and extended family & friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby.
Funeral Service:
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 600 St. Mary’s Ave., Frankfort. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park.
