Wanda M. Sweeney, 77, former Frankfort resident and of Delphi, died April 6, 2023 at I.U. Health University Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born May 20, 1945 in Frankfort, Ind., to the late Walter & Katie (Davis) Wells. She married John Joseph “JJ” Sweeney on August 16, 1975 and he preceded her in death.
Wanda was a 1962 graduate of Fra
nkfort High School. She had worked for Ajax Exterminators/Frankfort Pest Control for over 40 years, before retiring. Wanda enjoyed cooking, cookouts and family reunions at the TPA Park.
She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Mindy (Brian) Horsch of Delphi, Dawn (Robert Collins) Sweeney of Monticello, 3 Sons: James (Shannan) Wagner of Jones, MI, Andy (Lori) Wagner of Lafayette, John Sweeney of Monticello, 15 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Sweeney family c/o Goodwin Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
