Maryann Overholser

Maryann Overholser, 92, of Flora, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at her home in Flora. She was born in Camden on May 2, 1930, to Paul and Margaret (Stumbaugh) Graves. She married Wayne Overholser on December 23, 1950, at the Flora Grace Brethren Church (Flora Grace Bible Fellowship) by the Rev. Mark Males; he preceded her in death in 2001.

 

Maryann attended school in Camden. She had worked in her early years at the furniture factory in Flora. She then went to work at Sayco and worked there for a number of years. She left there to raise their three children then went back to Sayco to retire. Maryann was a member of the Flora Grace Bible Fellowship. She was very active in the nursery, Sunday school, vacation Bible school, church dinners, and with the Women’s Missionary Council where she served as vice president. She enjoyed working at the Community Thrift Store and loved spending time with her family.

 

Maryann is survived by her children, Duane Overholser of Flora and Debbie Douglas of Fairfield, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer Miller, Corey Douglas, and Jacob Douglas; great grandchildren, Tayah Miller, Thomas Miller, Teaha Miller, and Starr Barnes; great-great grandchildren, Liam, Kellianne, Carson, Cassian, and Aiylea; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Diana Overholser; brothers Bill, Bob, and Jim Graves; granddaughter Amanda Miller; and great granddaughter, Avalynn.

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 4 pm until 7 pm at the Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Reinke Chapel in Flora. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11 am at the Flora Grace Bible Fellowship Church 103 S Willow St, Flora, IN 46929 home with live-stream video of the service available at www.gendafuneralhome.com. Pastor Andy Gannon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Maple Lawn Cemetery.
