Phyllis Ann Snodgrass (Mays) of Mulberry, Indiana, passed away May 7, 2024 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, Lafayette, Indiana. She was born on January 10, 1936 to Noel D. and Lucille (Knowles) Mays in Hamilton County, near Cicero, Indiana. She graduated from Mulberry High School in 1953 and attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
On August 26, 1955, she married Dan F. Snodgrass of Frankfort and he preceded her in death on March 9, 2022. They were blessed with four children, Sheri L. Ireland of Lafayette, Rob W. (Lisa) Snodgrass of Lafayette, Terry M. Snodgrass of Mulberry and Beth A. (Mark) Bougher of Americus, giving her 8 grandchildren, Robby (Lara) Snodgrass, Nathanial (Kate) Snodgrass, Christopher (Trisha) Ireland, Kasey (Nathan) Honsowetz, Hanna, Abby, Emma Bougher and Sandy Ward, 13 great-grandchildren, Ian, Lilly, Asher, Clara, Lexi, Leah, Jacob, Tanner, Wyatt, Reid, Makenna, Tessa and Amelia. She is also survived by Linda Kay (Tom) Lawler and several nieces and nephews
Phyllis was the manager of Duncan Meter Employees Federal Credit Union for 20 years. She then merged DME with PEFCU and worked there for 3 years. She was a 60-year member of the Order of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron of the Mulberry and Jefferson Chapters. She was appointed as District Deputy 15 in 1972, was Grand Representative of Texas Grand Chapter and Assistant to the Grand Warder of Indiana Grand Chapter in 1994. She also served as President of the Indiana Grand Representatives in 1998. Dan and Phyllis enjoyed traveling with these groups very much. Phyllis also enjoyed golf, bowling, craft, and playing cards. After retiring she spent winters in Englewood, Florida, meeting many wonderful friends.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be 10 a.m. – 12 Noon, May 18, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort, Ind. Funeral services will begin at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery. Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com, where you may leave a condolence.
