The first round of Sectionals saw the Frankfort Hot Dogs face off against Attics, resulting in a score of 5 to 0 in favor of the Hot Dogs, but the Clinton Prairie Gophers fell short during the match against McCutcheon, resulting in a score of 5 to 0 in favor of McCutcheon.
The Hot Dogs saw #1 Singles Libby Pierce defeat Lilyjah Sichts with a score of 6-0, 6-0, #2 Singles Emma Wilder defeat Julianne Rosswurm with a score of 6-0, 6-1, #3 Singles Olivia Frye defeat Abigail Ratcliff with a score of 6-0, 6-3, #1 Doubles Jocelyn Seward and Kate Gabe defeat Isabel Scott and Molly Peterson with a score of 6-0, 6-2 and #2 Doubles Giselle Figueroa and Dalys Garcia-Martinez defeat Hope Borst and Madison Bonebrake with a score of 6-3, 6-2.
The Gophers saw #Singles Delany Lee fall to Emily Harding with a score of 6-2, 6-0, #2 Singles Carole Arnold fall to Emily Kendall with a score of 6-1, 6-0, #3 Singles Cynthia Roche fall to Audrey Edwards with an outstandingly close score of 7-5, 7-5, #1 Doubles Emerald Wallace and Bella White fall to Odalis Nicanor and Gail Villegas with a score of 6-4, 6-1 and #2 Doubles Adalyn Booth and Marissa Large fall to Maddy Cheesman and Lola Goodrick with a score of 6-1, 6-1.
The Hot Dogs are set to face off against Lafayette Central Catholic while McCutcheon faces off against Seeger tonight, Thursday, May 16 at 5 p.m. for round two of Sectionals.
