Vivian Hughes

Vivian Hughes, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on her 100th birthday, surrounded by family, May 26,2024, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born in Clarks Hill, Indiana, on May 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Noble Curtis and Hazel (Carson) Kincaid.

She is survived by four children, Danny Hughes (wife Kathy) of Champaign, IL, Teri Fella (husband Alan) of Lebanon, Janene Greer (husband Richard) of Oreana, IL, and Becky Winger of Lafayette. She had eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Ralph, Vivian was preceded in death by a newborn son, Martin Lee Hughes. Also, by two sisters, Mary Virginia Holden, and Dorothy Jean Pyles.

She was an active member of Clermont Christian Church and member of a coffee club for years in Clermont and Speedway. Later she joined Brady Lane Christian Church in Lafayette.

She was a dedicated homemaker and took pride in all she did for her family. She could be found playing many games of scrabble, cards, aggravation and dominoes.  She was an avid postcard sender to encourage her family and friends. She loved the Chicago Cubs and Purdue basketball.

Funeral services are planned for 11:00 am on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon St in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held at 10:00 am until the service.
