Mary Ellen Thompson, 92, passed away Tuesday morning, June 18, 2024, in Jamestown, Indiana. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 27, 1931, a daughter of the late William R. and Hilda (Sheffer) Hinton.
Mary was married to Raymond Thompson who preceded her in death in 2007.
Mary was a lifelong member of Fleming Gardens Christian Church in Indianapolis for over 50 years.
Survivors include her children, Russell (Sally) Abernathey and Robert (Darla) Thompson; sister, Denise (Perry) Smith; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was proceeded in death by her son William Thompson, sister Delores Hinton and nephew Joseph Brunk.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 West 21st Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. Due to the heat, services will be held at the chapel.
