Clinton Prairie 8U Super Gophers Place Second In Nail-Biting Championship Showdown

The Clinton Prairie 8U Super Gophers All-Stars team placed second in their most recent tournament, falling one run short in the championship game against Southwestern in Lafayette.

The team battled hard last night, Monday, July 23 in their attempt to claim the Championship title while facing off against Southwestern, but a nail-biting, back-and-forth match against the team resulting in a final score of 16 to 17 in favor of Southwestern.

“Words don’t describe how proud of these young ladies we have been all tourney long,” the league released. “Runner-up in a very skilled All-Star tournament is a major accomplishment that should be celebrated. CP 8U Super Gophers All-Stars, you have made us all so proud.”

The league released a further statement, expressing how the softball program for the Clinton Prairie Rec League is poised to continue its greatness as the Super Gophers continue their careers in 10U.
