A skateboarder was struck by a vehicle in Frankfort on Saturday suffering minor injuries.
On Saturday, Oct. 12 just before 4 p.m., Frankfort Police Department officers were reportedly dispatched to the intersection of Clinton Street and Clay Street on reports that a 17-year-old skateboarder was truck by a driver. Following a preliminary investigation, officers concluded that the skateboarder was travelling northbound on Clay Street before being struct by a motorist that did not completely stop while moving westbound on Clinton Street.
According to reports, the skateboarder was dragged by the car that struck him following the collision. Police reported that the juvenile sustained a few abrasions during the crash without other serious injuries. However, the juvenile was still transported from the scene to IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette to ensure that no broken bones were present.
The driver did not sustain any injuries, police report.
