The Frankfort Education Foundation announced the award of a Teacher Grant to Frankfort High School Math Teacher Doug Smart to cover the cost of Delta Math software for the department’s students.
Smart stated that the software is expected to allow students to further master their skills beyond the classroom through additional questions, example problems, instructional videos and more.
“It’s versatility allows the Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus teachers to use it in combination with their text curriculum when students need either more or different problems to work on,” Smart said. “It is used for mastering basic skills as well as helping students with critical thinking with an extensive library of word problems. Not only does it allow for more questions, it provides example problem break downs as well as instructional videos to assist teachers with explaining the mathematical concept by using progress checks, quizzes and common formative assessments.”
The grant awarded by the foundation will help fund the software in full for the school year.
