Ronald E. Pritchett, 62, of Frankfort, passed unexpectedly, Monday, December 9, 2024, at his home. He was born October 2, 1962, in Hendricks County to Ellen Wheatley and Paul Pritchett. He married Sherry Siegfried on June 6, 1987, she survives.
Ron was a 1981 graduate of Tri-West High School and then Purdue University with a BS in Agriculture Mechanization in 1986. He worked in claims insurance for several companies over the years. He was a member of Boone Masonic Lodge #9, Scottish Rite, and York Rite. He was actively involved in Boys Scouts, receiving his Eagle Scout rank in 1980 and helping over 100 other young scouts earn their Eagle Scout. He was a Cub Master and Assistant Scout Master for Pack 338 and Troop 338. He was a member of the Purdue Club of Clinton County where he served as Past President, Kappa Kappa Psi, and the All-American Marching Band Head of Operations from 1981-1986.
Ron was very proud of his faith, often stating he was “Methodist born, Methodist bred, and when I die, I’ll be Methodist dead.” He was baptized at Lizton UMC in 1962 and has been a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Frankfort since 1990 where he served as a middle school Sunday School teacher, youth group leader, liturgist, sang bass in the choir and played trombone in the church orchestra.
Along with his wife of 37 years, Ron is survived by his children, Julia (Kyle) Pritchett- Gonzales, Elizabeth (James Blount) Pritchett, and Daniel Pritchett; his father, Paul (Linda) Pritchett; mother, Ellen Wheatley; brother, John (Stacey) Pritchett, niece, Maggie; nephews, Benjamin, Nathaniel and Joshua; father-in-law, James Siegfried; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in passing by his grandparents, Charles and Margaret Pritchett and Emmett and Evelyn Wheatley; and mother-in-law, Barbara Siegfried.
Visitation will be held, Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4-7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort with a masonic service at 6:45pm and Saturday, December 21, 2024, 10am until the time of the service at 11am at St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Pastor Darin Hendrey will officiate. Burial will follow at Bunnell Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s honor to the Boy Scouts Troop 338 and Boone Masonic Lodge #9.
