The City of Frankfort Secures Significant INDOT Funding For Road Improvement Projects

The City of Frankfort announced that it has been awarded $449,068.44 in grant funding from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) through the Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) program for 2025. The City of Frankfort will match this grant with $450,000.00 bringing the total dedicated to road improvements to just under $900,000.00.

This substantial investment will fund twelve key road projects throughout the city, enhancing safety and accessibility for residents and visitors alike.

“We are immensely grateful to INDOT for their continued support and partnership through the Community Crossings Matching Grant program,” stated Frankfort Street Superintendent Brian Killman. “This funding allows us to undertake crucial infrastructure improvements, ensuring our roads are safe and efficient for all who use them.”

The CCMG funding will be utilized for the following twelve road projects:

  • Barner Street from Railroad to Columbia
  • Coin Lane from Williams Road to Coin Drive
  • Coin Drive from Williams Road to Dead end
  • Washington Drive from Crescent Drive to Maish Road
  • Washington Street from Jackson Street (State Road 39) to Rossville Avenue
  • Walnut Street from South Hoke Avenue to Dead end
  • Kyger Street from Jackson Street (US421/39) to Bill Goodwin Drive
  • Sixth Street from Edmond Street to Walnut Street (State Road 28)
  • Clinton Street from Columbia to Taylor Street
  • Wabash Street from Williams Street to Hoke Avenue
  • Alhambra Avenue from Ricker Street to the end of city limits
  • Park Street from Third Street to Columbia Street
