Jane Knapp Meadows, 82, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025. She was loved by all who knew her for her fun spirit and teasing ways. Jane grew up on a farm in Jefferson with her identical mirror twin sister, Jean. Jane learned to sew from her mother and was a lifelong seamstress, knitter, and crocheter. She made countless precious baby blankets for friends and relatives.
After attending Ball State University, Jane moved to Lafayette where she lived until her death. Jane was good with numbers and worked in accounting at Dunn & Hargitt for a number of years and retired from Purdue University. She enjoyed dining out and spending time with friends. Over the past thirteen years, she had many happy moments dancing at the Eagles with her adored and caring partner, David Marshall. Her nieces and nephews remember her unconditional love and the mischievous glint in her eye.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. Meadows, her sister, Jean Gardner and her parents, Kenneth and Attarah Knapp. She is survived and missed by David Marshall, her niece Jill (Paul) Rothenberger, nephew Kenneth (Jennifer) Gardner, nephew Thomas (Chelsea) Gardner, and niece Jennifer Gardner. She will be missed by additional family members and many friends.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main Street, Frankfort, IN. Friends may visit from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
