
Joyce Elaine Galvin, 90, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away on November 12, 2025. She was born July 10, 1935, to Wayne and Helen Johnson. She married Bill Whitis and they divorced. She was married to John R. Galvin for 25 years until they divorced.
Joyce graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. She lived and worked in Lebanon early in her life. She then moved to Clinton County and worked for the Clinton County Bank, Village Square Reality, Leavell and Bates Loan Company, Federal Land Bank, Wal Mart, and Personal Finance Company. She moved to Lebanon and eventually retired from Personal Finance Company.
Joyce was a member and teacher in the Manson Congregational Church and a member and Worthy Matron of the Jefferson Eastern Star. She bowled in leagues at the Frankfort Bowling Bun bowling alley.
She is survived by two sisters, Ruth Anne Miller and Janie Ambers, her sons Russell Whitis(Susie) and Frank Galvin, and her daughter Tena (Joe) Matthews. Her grandchildren Katie Greski (Mike), Jarred Whitis(Melissa) and Trent Bridgman (Barb). She is also survived by several grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
She requested to be cremated with no funeral. She will be buried in Fairbanks, Indiana, near her grandparents and parents. Her family will have a celebration of life later next year.
