Local businesses and employers are being invited to play a direct role in shaping Carroll County’s future workforce as schools implement Indiana’s new high school diploma requirements.
Under the updated state guidelines, students must complete 75 to 650 hours of work-based learning experiences during their four years of high school. School leaders say partnerships with local businesses and industry professionals will be key to student success — especially for those enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.
To help businesses learn how they can get involved, Indian Trails Career Cooperative and Carroll County schools are hosting two informational sessions:
Wednesday, January 28 | 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Carroll Jr./Sr. High School
Wednesday, February 11 | 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Delphi Community High School
During these sessions, attendees will learn how businesses can support students by:
Providing work-based learning experiences
Offering job shadowing opportunities
Giving guided workplace tours
Visiting classrooms to share industry knowledge
Hiring students for real-world skill development
Organizers emphasize that CTE and business partnerships strengthen the local workforce pipeline, support economic growth, and connect students directly to in-demand careers right in Carroll County.
Next steps for interested businesses include contacting Indian Trails Career Cooperative, attending one of the informational sessions, and beginning the process of pairing with students for tours, job shadowing, or classroom presentations.
